Meet the next generation of employees and foster innovation at the Mining Hackathon Kickoff event on January 19th from 12-3pm.
To provide a catalyst to increase innovation in Saskatchewan’s mining sector, we will be hosting a hackathon for the students of the University of Saskatchewan in response the needs outlined in the IMII’s DEMOday. A Hackathon is an event where students will brainstorm solutions to the industry’s needs and present their solutions to a panel of judges.
You are invited join the students for the kickoff event from 12PM to 3PM on January 19th, where you will be able to network with your prospective employees and University of Saskatchewan faculty. The hackathon itself will be 24-hours in length for the students (who can register using the same link), with food throughout and prizes will be awarded to the best ideas. Student admission is free for the event.
The students will be working on the list of the 42 Innovation Industry needs that the IMII released.
SIMSA and the IMII will also be hosting a DEMOday Launch event on January 18th.
The kickoff event is hosted by the Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA) in collaboration with the Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, and the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII).
